André Fortin wins fourth term for Pontiac
Lily Ryan
Pontiac sends Liberal André Fortin to Quebec for a fourth time. At press time, the governing party for Quebec could not be reliably called. Vote counting for Pontiac was sufficient to decidedly give Fortin the seat, although the final vote tallies will be confirmed after the newspaper is printed. Please see website for details. Whether Quebecers sent a majority Parti Québecois (PQ) government to office is also not known at press time. The question of whether the PQ has a strong or weak minority government, is unknown, and speculation about the number of seats won by other governments is unreliable.
