Another strike to be expected in Outaouais schools
The 3,000 members of the Syndicat du soutien scolaire de l'Outaouais (SSSO) will be on strike for half a day on Thursday, June 3. As a result, SSSO employees, who work in the region's two largest school service centres (des Draveurs and des Portages-de-l'Outaouais), will not be providing any services until noon on that day. Both school service centres have indicated that it is too early to determine whether school closures will be necessary.
Strike notices were sent to employers on May 21. The collective agreement for SSSO employees expired on May 31, 2020.
Parents will be informed as soon as possible of the services that will be maintained or suspended in the event of this strike.
