Aylmer couple Christine Sauvé and Alain Noël were found dead while vacationing in Villa Riva, Dominican Republic. They were found by their son on Boxing Day in their vacation home. The cause of death is unknown, and the investigation is ongoing.
According to their family members, Sauvé was feeling unwell the day before. After feeling dizzy and nearly fainting, she went to the hospital where she was cleared to go home after a blood test. She was scheduled for more testing after boxing day.
The tragic loss was a shock to their family, who have publicly commented on the slow ongoing process of repatriating the bodies. The family should get the results of the autopsies within 45 days.
“It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of our parents, Christine Sauvé and Alain Noël, who died peacefully in their sleep during the night of December 25 to 26. Out of respect for our family and to grieve in privacy, we ask for time and understanding. We will not be answering any questions at this time. We are waiting to have more answers to our questions before sharing further details. Thank you for respecting our silence and keeping us in your thoughts,” said the couple's children in a Facebook post.
