LeaderPOL salutes the decision of the American people to choose the Joe Biden / Kamala Harris ticket to preside over the destinies of the United States of America. We send our congratulations and best wishes to the newly elected officials.

Our organization, by virtue of its raison d'être, cannot ignore the arrival of the first black woman as vice-president. The election of Kamala Harris shatters the glass ceiling and will  mark the history of the United States. She is a source of pride for Black Communities and a huge inspiration for all those who fight for equality and justice around the world.

This historic election reveals the colossal issues facing the Black Communities, including Canada's. The social inequalities that arise from systemic racism in our societies are still a sad reality. The very fact that we are still talking today in 2020 of breaking the glass ceiling must challenge us. We need more inclusive societies if we want to succeed in living together.

The American people have demonstrated a lot of lucidity in electing Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, they rejected fear and identity withdrawal. It’s a new chapter that opens and we have reason to be optimistic about the future.
