City looking to upgrade Parc des Cèdres
The City of Gatineau is looking for a developer to build a recreational area with a fitness trail for adults and seniors at Parc des Cèdres. Announced on January 9, the tendering period goes from January 14 to February 2 at 2 pm.
According to Aylmer district councillor Audrey Bureau, the project was initially included in the city’s revitalization plan for the Parc des Cèdres – noting that the new park should be built sometime this year.
Having awaited the project for a long time, Bureau said that Parc des Cèdres is the ideal location for an outdoor fitness trail. “We know that a lot of people visit the park to do outdoor and nautical activities,” Bureau said. “It’s really an urban outdoor destination.”
She added that the fitness trail should be a complementary addition to what the park already has, giving everyone a chance to participate in a healthy activity. “It will allow people who have kids and adults a chance to stay active outdoors,” Bureau said. “We will respond to the population’s needs. So, this is really good news for Aylmer. We’ve been waiting for this for so long.”
People or companies interested in bidding for the contract must obtain the project’s submission documents via the Système électronique d’appel d’offres (SEAO) by calling 1 866 699-7326 or 514 856-6600, or via the following link – www.seao.ca – with the reference number 1437616.
Received applications will be opened to the public after the call for tendering.
It noted that the city is not obligated accept the lowest of the bids received, or any of the bids received, or incur any obligation or expense to the bidders.
