Constance-Provost construction on track to be completed by end of year
Sophie Demers
Following is the construction progress on the Constance-Provost building as of October 10.
The future community-hub will house the Lucy-Faris library as well as the city service centre. According to the city of Gatineau, the project is progressing well. There are several teams hard at work to complete the project and over eight workers on site daily to finish up the work.
The remaining work is mainly on the interior of the building, such as wood finishes on the central staircase, installing lighting, and finishing the built-in furniture. After construction is complete, the city will still need three months to get the space set up for public use. This work includes installing shelving and adding the books, as well as setting up the equipment and furniture.
