About 20 young players from the Aylmer Soccer Club (CS Aylmer) enjoyed an enriching experience during the CAN GATO third place and championship games, held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, thanks to a partnership between the two organizations. The CAN GATO is the African Nations Cup in Gatineau-Ottawa, which is above all a unifying, friendly, and fun soccer event.
The young players had the opportunity to walk onto the field alongside the finalists, Senegal and Burkina Faso, before the matches. They also participated in mini games held during halftime breaks, allowing them to experience the event from the inside.
The day concluded with a victory for the Senegalese team, which was crowned champion in the final. The event also gave the young players from the Aylmer club the opportunity to meet the players and take part in a sporting celebration that brought together many soccer fans.
For CS Aylmer, this participation reflects the club’s commitment to providing its young players with experiences that go beyond regular practices and competitions.
The club also highlighted the importance of its partnership with CAN GATO, which made this appearance in the finals possible, and hopes to continue this collaboration in future editions.
