Earth Day
Every year, Earth Day, celebrated on 22 April since 1970, aims to raise global awareness of the importance of preserving and protecting the Earth's natural resources and biodiversity.
How can we, as ordinary citizens, contribute to this effort? There are lots of small things we can do, and each one counts.
Green our environment!
Let's garden, plant trees and shrubs, put flowers in our flowerbeds and balconies, and do away with pesticides and herbicides.
Reduce our waste!
The more we consume, the more we produce. Buy less and better, recycle and compost more.
Set a good example!
Actions speak louder than words! Encourage friends, family, colleagues and neighbours to do the same.
Clean up our environment!
Pick up the rubbish lying around our neighbourhoods. Let's organise small clean-up blitzes in our parks and forests.
Earth Day must be lived every day to keep our world healthy, for ourselves and for our loved ones.
