Gatineau Auto Show takes hiatus for 2023 due to rising costs and supply challenges
In a difficult decision, the organizers of the Gatineau Auto Show have announced that the 2023 edition of the event will not be held. The show, which aimed to provide a free and high-quality festival for Gatineau citizens while offering affordable exhibition opportunities for car enthusiasts, cited soaring costs and supply challenges as the main reasons for the hiatus.
The impact of the ongoing pandemic has led to a significant increase in costs across various sectors, and the organizers of the auto show have not been immune to this trend. Additionally, partners in the automotive industry and other sectors have been facing difficulties due to supply shortages of products and manpower.
Another major challenge faced by the organizers is finding volunteers to support the event, both for the Board of Directors and the various working committees. As a result, the team has decided to take the coming year to revamp the event's format and address these challenges.
Despite the cancellation, the Auto Show Gatineau team expressed their gratitude to the Ville de Gatineau, which remains a major partner of the auto show. They also extended their well wishes to the public, hoping for a wonderful summer filled with memorable encounters and beautiful cars.
Car enthusiasts and residents of Gatineau will have to wait until future announcements to learn about the revival of the Gatineau Auto Show and its new format.
