LETTER
Gilles Chagnon’s congratulations
In the February 24th Aylmer Bulletin, Gilles Chagnon, Ward 2 Councillor, has a report proclaiming that three out of four (73%) Gatineau residents are satisfied with municipal services which he proudly breaks down to libraries, equipment for parks, playgrounds and sports activities, cycle paths, street maintenance and sidewalks in spring and summer and snow removal. Lastly, 76% of respondents are satisfied with the city’s management of COVID-19, a rating similar to the Léger standards for municipalities of comparable size.
I have lived in Aylmer for over 35 years and have never seen a survey conducted by Léger. Apparently the survey is taken every two years. My neighbors and family have never seen this survey either. Where in Gatineau was this survey taken? I would love to see these questions given to Aylmer residents. I am positive the results would not be the same! Actually, I suggest breaking it down to all sectors of Gatineau (Buckingham, Gatineau, Hull and Aylmer). This way everyone gets to see which sector receives more funding and preferential treatment.
