Homicide on Wychwood Drive, first of 2021 for Gatineau
A man in his sixties, named Norman Richards, died in the hospital after suffering injuries inside a promenade de Wychwood residence on February 15 – resulting in Gatineau’s first homicide of the year.
According to a press release issued by the SPVG on the same date, police responded to an altercation at the home shortly after 12:30 am. It stated that, upon arriving at the scene, officers found two men who were both injured, one more severely than the other, and were quickly taken to the Hull Hospital.
The other person involved was a man in his thirties, named Luk Deslauriers-Forest, who remained at the hospital and has been detained for an investigation, SPVG spokesperson Renée Anne St-Amant told the Bulletin.
For a complete analysis of the scene, police stated that the Laboratoire de sciences judiciaires et de médecine légale du Québec would send a team to the site of the incident.
Police noted that the SPVG would continue to investigate the matter to determine the circumstances surrounding the homicide.
