Jane's Walk “ walks” around Aylmer with a beautiful guided tour in Deschênes

Jane's Walk toured the Deschênes area on Saturday, May 2. Jane's Walk is an organized and recreational walking and tour program in Ottawa and Gatineau, offering neighbourhood tours led by professionals that discuss the neighbourhood's history and nearby artifacts.

The tour on May 2 started at 10:30 am and ended at 12 pm, departing from the André-Touchet Community Centre parking lot, and the tour covered the history of Deschênes, walking up and down near the rapids.

The tour was in French, and they talked about the rapids and their history, as well as other historical events that took place in the neighbourhood. The tour was led by Lynn Rodier and Howard Powles, two local historians with experience leading walking tours of Aylmer.
