However, the difference lies in the quality and freshness of the products offered. This is a point that Lauzon insists on, as he has the health of consumers at heart. Most meats ordered at the slaughterhouse are ready to be delivered in just a few days, except for beef. Depending on the size of the animal, the aging period required for this meat is 15 to 24 days. "But at least people have a quality product on their plate," Lauzon says.
The state-of-the-art slaughterhouse is C1-certified, which means an inspector and veterinarian are on site on slaughter days to make sure everything is done properly and to control the quality of the meat produced. It should also be noted that the facility offers slaughter according to halal standards.
