Plants nourish more than soil, fundraiser for Heritage Association grows
Lily Ryan
The lawn around the Aylmer Heritage Association was transformed into a plant sale and social gathering, June 6. Volunteers had gathered up plant donations in the weeks ahead of the sale, organizing the species and varieties in sections round the grounds of the association. Volunteer plant experts and other helpers helped gardeners choose and then move around their purchases.
New this year were trees and shrubs, and a rare treat: Jack-in-the-pulpit, Northern Starflower and even Bloodroot.
The Aylmer Heritage Association depends heavily on public financial support through events such as the Plant Sale, but welcome donations at all times. Contact: 819 684-6809, associationpatrimoineaylmer@gmail.com
