Protest de-politicization of Pride

Friday, August 18th, around 60 LGBTQ activists protested in opposition to Pride Montreal/Canada and to the speech given by Minister Stephanie Vallée. Ms Vallée  spoke at the National Conference organized by Pride Montreal/Canada.

The protesters criticize the depoliticization of Pride right across Canada, especially in relation to the most urgent causes in the LGBTQ community (for example, the rights of trans migrants). The protesters demand that Pride becomes political and exerts pressure on the government in order to advance important causes. The Pride is much more than a party!
