The Regional Association of West Quebecers (RAWQ) held its annual general meeting on Tuesday evening September 29 at the British Hotel in Aylmer. It was held both in person and online via Zoom, with around a dozen people in attendance. The meeting allowed members to review the organization’s activities and discuss its priorities for 2026-2027.
The AGM also brought changes to the organization’s leadership and board of directors. For the new year, the board includes Nikki Buechler as president and secretary, Brad Brookman as treasurer, as well as Cat Doyle, Chris Judd, Russell Bostwick and Suzanne Keeptwo as directors.
The RAWQ’s mission is to represent and support the English-speaking community in the Outaouais. The organization works to promote access to information and services in English, support community initiatives and encourage the participation of English-speaking residents in regional life.
Communication with residents also remains an important part of its work. The RAWQ’s French and English websites, which were recently launched, are now operational and are intended to make information about the organization’s services, activities and resources more accessible.
The RAWQ plans to continue developing the two platforms to make them even more accessible and useful to residents. The organization aims to further improve the way information is shared with the community in both official languages.
The annual general meeting ultimately provided an opportunity for the RAWQ to reaffirm its commitment to serving the English-speaking community across the Outaouais over the coming year.
